So busy last couple of months!

Most important of all news is that we are expecting
twin
grand
babies!
Bob and I are so excited to be grandparents, we can hardly stand it! Everyone tells us that it's the best feeling in the world, and we're already getting a taste of it, even though they are not here yet. Mari is in her 16th week and all is going well. We should know the sex of the babies in a few weeks, if they let themselves be shown! In the meantime, we are sooooo excited! Estimated date of arrival should be late November, early December.

I'm gonna be a Gramma

Bobby and Maribel found out today that they are pregnant! Bob and I are so excited to be Grandparents, and so happy for them because we know that they will make terrific parents. The news came after trying so get pregnant for so long, but after their first try with in-vitro fertilization, the little eggs stuck. We will find out in a couple of weeks how many of the 3 actually made it. In the meantime, we are all walking on clouds!

Super Bowl Sunday

We gathered yesterday at Bobby and Maribels home in Tucson yesterday to watch the big game. Now I'm not much of a football fan, but I do always enjoy the excitement of the Super Bowl. For the past few years I had always been scheduled to work on this special day, but that would not stop me from joining in on the celebration. We would always manage to have a "Super Bowl Party" at work, and even invite our patients and their families to our party, but this year, I made a point of requesting the time off so I could enjoy it with my family. I'm glad I did, because we had a great time. Making the game even more exciting was the fact that the Arizona Cardinals were playing. In honor of the team, Anna used her expert cupcake making skills to fix these wonderful treats for everyone. Although our team did not win, we enjoyed the exciting game, and as always, it's so nice to be my kids!

Christmas 2008

We celebrated Christmas early this year. Bobby and Maribel were going to be with her family in Sedona, and Christina was invited to join Rory's family in El Paso, and since I was scheduled to work on Christmas Eve and Christmas day, we decided on an early Christmas celebration on the 20th. We invited family and friends, and had a successful party. There was lots of food, and lots to drink! We had a great time!

We had our annual department Christmas party at Holy Cross Hospital. Here I am with our tech Anna, Dr. Duran, and Terry. We were setting up one of the birthing rooms for our potluck. As always, we had tons of food, and left here feeling stuffed. But can't complain, all the food was pretty tasty.

Sedona

Although we didn't stumble into a vortex (maybe next time) we did see some beautiful landscapes. Here is a view of the Chapel of the Holy Cross from a distance.

Trip to Prescott

Bob and I took a short vacation to the Prescott, Sedona area in northern Arizona. We met with Bob's cousin Ceci, who lives in Prescott and attended the Christmas parade on Saturday Morning, and later the lighting of the Courthouse in the evening. It was a nice, different way to begin the Christmas season. The next day we drove to Jerome and took a train ride through the Verde Canyon. We spent the night in a hotel that was way over 100 years old, pretty creepy, but thankfully, no ghosts were present. The next morning we drove to Sedona, which I had driven through in the past, on our way back from Flagstaff or the Grand Canyon in past years. However, on this trip, I got to see more, and I was blown away at how beautiful it is. We're going to have to plan another trip to spend more time there sometime!
