It's been a while since I've blogged, time just keeps slipping by.....Since my last post, my favorite Aunt, Tia Irma, passed away, August 30. I'm so glad I got the opportunity to visit her with my girls back in June. She was my favorite by far, and I will miss her very much. But such is life, and she did have a good one. Now she's with my Mom having a good time I'm sure.
The past month I kept busy planning Bobby and Maribel's Baby Shower, the theme was theme was Two Peas in a Pod, and we had a great time organizing everything. After all the stress (and expense) , the shower was a success. Lot's of family and friends, the decorations were a hit, and the food was delicious. Unfortunately, I was so busy hostessing, that I failed to take good photos.
The twins should be ready to arrive around Thanksgiving time, which will be her 37th + week, if all goes well. I can't wait!

Twin Boys!
We found out last week that the babies are both boys! It was exciting news, I felt like I did when I first found out they were pregnant! Mari is in her 20th week and is feeling great. Both Bobby and Mari are now excitedly working on plans for the nursery and other things they will be needing.
We contributed by buying one of the cribs, and Mari's Mom bought the other one. This is our first purchase towards our grandbabies of many many more!
And in true grandma spirit, I have learned how to crochet, and have begun the first of two blankets for the babies! I've kept my mind busy thinking about the baby shower we will be throwing for them in October.
I'm just sooooo excited!

Mexico City
Shortly after arriving from Washington, my brother and daughters took off to Mexico City after learning that our favorite Aunt was ill. We spent 5 wonderful days with her and my cousins. She is my mom's only surviving sibling and when I see her, I feel like my mom is close by. It was a bittersweet trip and I was tired from my Washington trip, but I'm glad we went.

Anniversary in DC
Bob and I visited Washington DC during our 32nd Wedding Anniversary. This is a place Bob has always wanted to visit, and after the inauguration in January, I wanted to get to know the place as well. It was hot and humid, and we just about killed our feet walking, but it was worth it. We had a great time.

So busy last couple of months!
Most important of all news is that we are expecting
twin
grand
babies!
Bob and I are so excited to be grandparents, we can hardly stand it! Everyone tells us that it's the best feeling in the world, and we're already getting a taste of it, even though they are not here yet. Mari is in her 16th week and all is going well. We should know the sex of the babies in a few weeks, if they let themselves be shown! In the meantime, we are sooooo excited! Estimated date of arrival should be late November, early December.

I'm gonna be a Gramma
Bobby and Maribel found out today that they are pregnant! Bob and I are so excited to be Grandparents, and so happy for them because we know that they will make terrific parents. The news came after trying so get pregnant for so long, but after their first try with in-vitro fertilization, the little eggs stuck. We will find out in a couple of weeks how many of the 3 actually made it. In the meantime, we are all walking on clouds!

Super Bowl Sunday
We gathered yesterday at Bobby and Maribels home in Tucson yesterday to watch the big game. Now I'm not much of a football fan, but I do always enjoy the excitement of the Super Bowl. For the past few years I had always been scheduled to work on this special day, but that would not stop me from joining in on the celebration. We would always manage to have a "Super Bowl Party" at work, and even invite our patients and their families to our party, but this year, I made a point of requesting the time off so I could enjoy it with my family. I'm glad I did, because we had a great time. Making the game even more exciting was the fact that the Arizona Cardinals were playing. In honor of the team, Anna used her expert cupcake making skills to fix these wonderful treats for everyone. Although our team did not win, we enjoyed the exciting game, and as always, it's so nice to be my kids!
